Last month Tom & I have decided to become Fully Raw Vegan for a large amount of time...for him it is totally new, for me I have researched and been on and off this diet for the past 8 years and have never been able to forget how AMAZING I felt whilst on it. Now at age 31 I've decided to stop messing about and actually commit to this lifestyle that I've respected for well over half a decade for a much more significant amount of time!

Over the past several years I have learned a lot of reasons why I've gone wrong with this way of life, too many to name in fact! One of the facts that I learned on my health quest is the importance of yin & yang and having balance, which is important in every aspect of life I believe...work, play, sleep, fitness, relationships, food the list goes on. One of the many secrets I discovered for having success in the raw vegan lifestyle is to keep the body warm & cold, yin & yang. Raw Eating is cold, breakfast, lunch & dinner...and because of this it is important (if you believe in Eastern Medicine as I do) that we allow the body to have heat in some form as well as cold.
A lovely Raw Vegan Chef named Dara Dubinet came up with a very clever way of putting this balance in to play for those of us who are comfortably use to our morning Cup of Joe. She calls these genius heated drinks "Tonics" and she teaches others on her YouTube Channel and also on her personal website how to make various different Tonics to suit many needs.
Personally Tom & I love making Dara's tonics first thing in the morning and it's been really fun creating some of our own from my array of Raw Organic finds on Amazon (I'm a little obsessed with new teas, mushrooms, powders, roots or superfoods...health geek hardcore!). I also love watching Dara's other recipes and advice as well. She's uber natural on camera and her genuine and caring nature seeps out to those of us who tune in to her on the regular.
